Painted Rust Restorer on bottom of floor pans and rear skid plate. Neat stuff.
Re-installed skid plate. General "once over" before trip to the OBX.

Primered the fenders.

Tail lights are disassembled ready to cleanup and hopefully make work better.

Looking at it, I just have to cleanup the wheel wells and shoot a little flat black in there before putting back together. lol

Have my new tail lights bolted to the cage and new wires solder in. Need to put it all in a wire loom. Should have the electrical distrabution box wired in and the tail lights working reals soon.

Next is to wire in the electric fan and make sure it is all good. Last is plumb the radiator and Bleed Brakes.

ACE Hardware has made a killing off me on all the Nuts, Bolts, Wahsers and screws I have purchased over the last few weeks.

Talk about anal. I used my electric level to make sure all the tail lighs were perfect 90' to the ground and face back. every thing is in 1' or less. No more eyeballing it here.

Checked to see if my bug made it through the fire! crazy! 1200 acre fire burned kinda sorta in the yard next to where I have my baja parked! Thank God it missed. Still a pretty bad fire though.

3rd gear in my transmission was non existent so out came the engine and the trans this morning. Off to the transmission guy for a look.

I still have lots to do so it is only a mild setback.

Going to attempt to install my primered fenders. Had to do some trimming to clear the bars at the bottom of the doors. I don't know what they were drilled out for, but it wasn't a 66 vw. Smile So I also need to make some new holes and figure out how to install the bead stuff I had bought a long time ago as there are no holes in it.

Changed out my alternator. Found out it wasn't charging at all.

Dropped off my transmission to have third gear looked at.

This last week I order a Saco rack from Darrel at Bugzyla and I also ordered hime joint kits for some custom tie rods. This is going to be a fun week of fabing on the baja.

Tried to adjust the brakes, still not much Sad looks like I have to pull the pedals back out and switch the brake pedal out for the one that was in it before.

Straightened (this must have been why it was converted to a baja after a wreck) the bent up brackets of my tailight bucket, sanded both of them and put a coat of primer on.

Now to order lenses and hopefully gaskets or seals. I still need to clean the electronic components and where the contact points are, but they are getting closer to being hopefully more reliable. I'm still looking at installing a wiring harness for a trailer and lights from a kit so I can hookup and go and also use them for more visibility/reliability.

Jeremy and I went and picked up my 3x3 setup and a set of Sway-a-way 12" coil overs in Las Vegas.
