Ripped the carb apart last night and rebuilt it, (32 NDIX).

Man, that thing was schmucked up. I can't believe it ran BEFORE. Shocked It just quit one day before I left.

I completely disassembled it, boiled the main body (you should have seen the water afterwards - and that was after a thourough carb cleaner job)

I put it back together with the kit, and it runs pretty well now, better than ever!

By the way, if you forget to hook up your fuel line before startup because you are all excited about your car, when you hit the switch for the electric fuel pump, it will dump a lot of gas in 5 seconds. Good thing I hit the pump, then went back to look for leaks before firing it up. Not that it would have... Rolling Eyes

Congrats. I just had to clean the idle jets in my Zenith.

This thing is so tuned now, I just bump the key, and it is idling (when it's warmed up).

I have never had a car idle and run so well with a 25 year old carb.

The toughest part on NDIX carbs is always getting the accellerator pump adjusted right. Get that and you are golden.

Jeff

Use a choke and it will run great cold. They are the best fuel system short of fuel injection. The were also used on MBZ Uni Moogs. Its amazing the small throttle plate carb worked for small and larger engines. Tom Coy of Speed Unlimited ran 11s with a set of dual Zeniths on a 2180 VW engine..
