What's up everyone! My names Curt, I'm 21, and I just bought my first baja. It's a 75, not my ideal year, but it was only 1300 so whatever. Ever since I was a little kid I remember my dad telling us his good Ole days stories about his bajas, growing up in Santa barbara. So, naturally, I've always kinda wanted one to thrash on haha. I work for a mom and pop drilling company in cottonwood, az. Recently I got moved up to a driller from a laborer position so, naturally, a rediculously generous raise came along with it. I ended up hitting craigslist for a 2nd car to save miles on my Tacoma prerunner, and ended up just buying a baja for a toy instead! Anyways, I bought it at night (big mistake), fully knowing it had spun a rod bearing. Turns out the fenders were all garbage, the wiring is a nightmare, and the interior was worse than I thought. And as luck would have it, the guy drove it way too long after it blew. So I bought a rebuilt kit, split the case, new crank, basically new everything, and just got it back in last weekend, all with nothing but an idiots guide for a reference. I only get every other weekend off, otherwise I'm out of town. So getting it all done and back in in a month and a half is quite ok for me. Rhino lined the interior, only one small 1x1" section of the floor pan had to be patched, but I just brought a welder home from work! Haha. Anyways, got it running, though the wiring was a nightmare for how simple the system SHOULD be. Either way, can't wait to get back home for the trial run! ...not sure how to attach pics but I'll post em when I figure it out.

An offroad friend of mine used to live in Camp Verde. He worked for some outfit that did offroad tours. I worked as a water system consultant for a number of years and designed water wells, up to 1,600 gpm, and was the Inspector for our clients, among other things. You job can involve a lot of long shifts and hard, dirty work. but it can be a good way to make a living. Working for a Mom & Pop can offer good potential for striking out on your own later.

Use the little Yellow mountain icone or use one the the photo sites and you can paste it in.
