Found this when I was digging through my stuff from when I was a kid & found this:

Added a couple drops of water & Bam! It works again. Pretty crazy for a 30 year old stamp...

When that rubber stamp was made, I was in Manufacturing Engineering at Mattel. I bought the equipment to manufacture Hot Wheels in Taiwan and in Malaysia. Kinda cool to spend a couple million of someone else's dollars in one day buying stuff to make car toys.

Later I was in Product Safety making sure that product was safe for kids to play with. I was responsible for Hot Wheels and a variety of other products. I dealt with L. Wood (Larry Wood was the head designer for Hot Wheels for decades) and the design staff on a daily basis. New designs had to be approved by me before they could go on to production. Then I could stop production at any time if there was a safety problem. Had an office full of Hot Wheels. I have a bunch of Hot Wheels which would probably be very cool to collectors. Pre-production stuff and test samples.

I used to talk to people in the orient and Europe daily. Kinda cool to look back on. Once upon a time, I knew whose Baja Bug was the inspiration for the Hot Wheels Baja. But that is long forgotten. Oval Window sunroof with a bug-eye glass kit and a Giese oil cooler scoop.

There were a few people I worked with at Mattel who raced offroad road like I did. One time my secretary told me of a meeting at a Mattel manufacturing plant here in SoCal with the head of the department that built and maintained the assembly line equipment. His name is Richard Young. When I got there, it turned out he was an offroad racer who had heard I was racing my buggy and just wanted to talk about offroad racing.

Not long after that, I spent some time working with him as I designed an assembly line for manufacturing game cartridges for the M-Network brand, which was Mattel Intellivision games to be played in the competing Atari game system. That assembly line cranked out 600,000 units per week with a retail sale price of $49.95 each. Richard and the production foreman "Thumper" McDowell were Checkers offroad pit group members. The head fabricator working for Richard had come to Mattel from working at FunCo building play buggies and race cars. Meetings could get derailed a little at times.
