John..

I caught up with the group at Patton Rd. the problem was I did not have enough time to properly test all the systems before the run.. I had a few other "look what I forgot to do" along the way but nothing that slowed me down.. I have a few more bugs to work out...

I really like the ride... "for not putting a lot of money into the suspension" its not as fast as the rail but it is comfortable.. with the widen beam the car has a lot less body roll.

We let the rail/Baja open it up a few times .... I could tell they had fun by the dirt in there teeth.

Team Baja was a blast to ride with... we travel about the same speed.. now... I slowed down to enjoy the ride..

went over the car this morning it looks good ... need to be washed...??? (Naaaaaaaa!)

thanks for the run it was so much fun! Headding up the river I drove off of a 5 foot ledge! I was puckering for an impact that never came, just gently hit the bump stops and Didn't even slow down it was so cool! We stopped in Wickenburg at a place called the Hog Trough Muey exelentae BBQ! Once out of town on the Constelation mine road I noticed the brake pedal starting to go lower and lower untill I had to pump it trice to just slow down, not good on a twisty mountain mine road! on my rail I can either shut off the front or rear brakes, I shut off the rear and I had a normal pedal, then I shut off the fronts and holy cow I had to pump it like crazy. O.K. so now I know the problem is in the rear. next break and I give the rear tires a quick shake and thats when I notice the right rear has a little play. Now I'm slowed down a bunch (front brakes only). By the time we get to the paved road everyone is saying thier goodbyes I was inspecting the right rear tire, I squeezed the cv boot and smoke came out, thats hot! I let it cool a little bit and pulled the boot back and put a tube of cv grease in the cv, slid the boot back and put on a new band, then headed home I took every back road and dark alley fron Lake Pleasant to my home going about 25 to 30 mph slow but it cept the bearing from overheating!
Sunday I got up early dissasebled that side and the inner bearing's rollers were gone as was the seal just the outter ring of the seal nothing! but the outter bearing was just fine, I'm thinking some how I got sand in the inner bearing (cv side)and it just chewed up the bearing. The wild part is that no body has these bearings and races in Phoenix, But Amazon does and a lot more, I'll be ordering them this Sat. I can;t believe I drove over 30 miles with no inner bearing! thanks to everybody that went, need to hussle for presedents day

hey everyone..

I am going to pre run the Hassayampa this Saturday 10/25/2014 @ 8 am. The Hassayampa River run starts at the waffle House at 83rd Ave. and McDowell we leave from there drive up to 339th Ave. Turn right to McDowell Road then we then take McDowell Road to the bottom of the Hassayampa River most non-Street legal vehicles meet us at this point. Then we drive up the Hassayampa River to Wickenburg the non-Street legal vehicles will turn around and go back down the Hassayampa River run while the rest of the vehicles going to Wickenburg for lunch then we take the constellation mine Road over to the Castle Hot Springs Rd. then exiting at the lake pleasant recreation area. This is a very easy run a stock Baja can easily make this event.

See Ya in the dirt!
