I have a chance to pick up an almost set of new cooper Discoverer AT/3, size 265/75/15 but I was wondering if it just might be a little to much tire for a stock, but just recent top end built 1600 dp and on all four corners on my super beetle? Please, any info as fast as possible would be great becausexI need to get back to the guy that has them for sale. Thanks a bunch.

those are about a 30x10.5. they might be a bit wide for the front but i think you would be okay for the rear. you're not going to be winning any races but it shouldn't kill all of your torque. thats just my .02 though

So what would be a good all around tire in size without really robbing any power or torque? Being winter comeing and all but a good aggresive tread for all year? I wouod like to put the same tire on all corners so it sits level.

It'll be too wide for the front. I think that's a good size for the rear though.

vtbaja, I see you are in Vt. Some things to consider. Snow in winter there? Drive hills on highway? 4.5 or 5.5 inch rims? If you don't want to lose any horsepower or torque, you will have to run strictly stock size tires. The bigger the tire the less torque and thus less apparent horsepower you will have at any given time. Driving in snow you will want a narrower tire. Using 4.5 rims I would recommend 195/75 series or 7.00x15. 5.5 you can run 215/70/15 or 205/75/15. Going bigger on front will cause rubbing if going over speed bumps with the wheel turned right or left. Of course this was only what I ran without problems, it will depend on vehicle modifications and suspension condition as to whether or not it will work for you. Something like the General Grabber AT2 in the 205/75/15 is probably the look you are going for.
