Hi guys,

I need a lot of parts for my project and after reading your advise I contacted Chirco and sent them a (long) list of parts I need. I asked them to look at the list, see if it is ok and sent me a quote. This was more than 2 weeks ago (10-25).
10-30 they send me a mail I needed a verfied PayPal and after I replied I already have this they told me they are working on it. That was 10-31.
I am still waiting for a qoute. Is it normal that it thakes this long and am I just being impatient?
I would think looking at the list and getting me a qoute should not take more than a few days max. I know its a long list but even so.
It doesn't give me a good feeling. If this takes so long, how long will it take for them to get all the parts together and ship it to me?
Should I look for another shop or just wait?

Thanks.

Chirco's always been good to me, but then again I only live a few hours away from Tucson. If I were you I'd pick up the phone and call them as that'll be a confirmation to them that you're a serious buyer and that they won't be wasting their time.

I called them right after sending the email to confirm they received my mail and explain what I wanted.
The guy answering the phone was very nice and said they had a show that week but would answer me as soon as possible.
I have for maybe $ 3-4000 on that list I send them. I would think that is serious and not wasting their time?
Maybe they don't want to ship all the way to Miami, but if so, why don't just say so?
I send them a mail friday morning to ask how they were doing but havent had a reply yet.

Bad timing it is Bug o rama weekend. Some shops us to close up the Thursday and Friday before. Every time I have called for a part it is at my shop in a couple of days. Even at my shop calls get priority over emails and texts. I bet if you call and place an order it will get processed and shipped within 24 hours. A phone call takes seconds to answer. Even the other companies I deal with unless they have a dedicated email person I don't expect an email in a timely manner. On top of that emails get lost people are always asking me did you get my email I often find them in the spam folder.

The guy at the phone confirmed they received my mail.
I think my list is a little bit long to discuss over the phone but maybe you are right. I will call them early next week ans see what they say.
Thanks.

Would have been nice but I do not live in the MIA area. I live in Curacao, a little island close to Venezuela.
From Miami I will have the parts shipped to Curacao.

A short update.
I called Chirco last week. They asked me to call back monday because the person that handles e-mail orders (Joe Chirco) was not in that week. It seems that he is the only one that can / is allowed / is willing? to handle my order.
We are now 3,5 weeks after my initial mail and still no price quote. Sad

Well, I finally got Joe on the line. For some reason my e-mail has been overlooked/forgotten.
He promised me a qoute today!
Maybe it's going to be a nice X-mas after all Laughing

I'm happy but man, freight from Tuscon to Miami $1300 ouch! Shocked
