After years of doing this

We have decided to resurrect her as a prerunner! Process will be slow, but we hope to return the car to its former racing glory.

Power steering pump.

This car started life as a class 11 car. Went to a class 5-1600 and then became a class 5.

So the project has begun to move in a forward direction. Car will need a new passenger side repair section and then the rebuild will begin. If there is enough $$$$$, I would like to bring it to this years Hassayampa run. I guess we will see.

BFG Traction Kings. 7.00 - 15 size. Don't know if they are still available. Those are just the spares for the car. Too small.

I run 33x9.50-15 BFG All Terrains up front and 33x10.50-15 BFG All Terrains in the back.

Was able to get to Tucson over the weekend and get the car ready for paint. Two solid days sanding, pounding dents, fiberglassing the hood and priming/wet sanding. It is ready to go to the painters for another coat of Chevy white.

Also got the huge hole in the floor fixed.

Don't want to make it too nice because it will just get scratched up all over again.

.

The racing seats have seen better days. Stains, rips, tears etc... Decided to take them apart and restring them and clean them up. Lots of twigs, rocks, dirt etc... in the seats. I was amazed at how much crap was in there.

I used some special high strength thread to sew up all the tears and split seams. Restrung all the areas in the suspension seat that were broken, which was most of them.

Took some RIT fabric dye and tried to color the seat black since the blue was really stained. I think I may need to do another couple passes on the dye job to hide some more of the stains and fading. I figure it is worth a try.

Time to start on the next project. Class 5 baja is in the garage. Lots of work, but it was a really fun car years ago. It will be once again, I hope.
