AZ...How can we get this posted at the top of the New Members Section as a sticky?

Now...Newbie...Pay attention here:

1st...Keep your 'thing' in your shorts. Shocked

But you can post pics of your offroad VW by following the instructions below.

OK
Step A:
1st - Do you have photos which are in digital computerized form?
2nd -Are they ".jpg" format?
3rd - Are they on your home computer?

With all of the questions above answered "yes", we can go on...

Step B:
1 - Open another browser tab or window and go to:
photobucket.com/
Open a free "PhotoBucket" account (if you don't have one already). It is for sharing and storing pictures.

2 - Then upload your photos to the site. You don't have to upload everything you have, just do what applies to your Baja Bug or buggy for now. Organize them into an album so you can find them easier. This might take a little time to set up, but once you have your pics in there, it saves a huge amount of time for working on any forum.

Step C: - Once you have all of that done, it gets easier.
For any Forum or Board:
- Go to the forum and open the posting window to create a messsage. leave the cursor where you want to insert your pictures.

- Then open your account at Photobucket in another browser tab and log in. Go to your album of the Baja. Find the picture you want.

Each photo in Photobucket has a group of links in boxes under the picture. The bottom link is best for putting photos in posts on this or any other forum.

- Click on the bottom link ("IMG Code") and it will put a small yellow box next to the photo which says "link copied".

- Go to your forum post writing window and click on the spot in the message where you want the picture inserted. Then press "Ctrl" and "V" at the same time. It will paste the photo in your post.

You can click on the "Preview" button at the bottom of the message writing window to see how your post looks with the photo in it or to check grammar/typing/whatever before you actually post the message.

For posting photos from other places on the web:
- When you come to the place in your message where you want the photo, Click on the Photo link tool above where you type the message. It's on the left lower row next to the skull and crossbones and shows a yellow background with mountains in gray and a sun shining above.

- This will open a small window asking you for the url of the image you want to insert. Paste the url from the address bar of the image into the box. It will insert it into the message.

- Again...Use the "Preview" button to check that the picture shows in the message. Some websites won't share this way.

You can use this method for Photobucket too if you click on the "Direct Link" button next to the picture.

OK, here's some pix ... finally!

This one I originally bought to use as a Baja. However, once I got to cleaning it up, etc. it turned out to be a clean low mile survivor and I couldn't get myself to turn it into a baja. Laughing

So I went searching again and recently found this basketcase. First photo shows it coming home on the trailer. The second photo shows it after I spent a little time cleaning it up. I think I'm gonna run it with the original paint. It's got some missing paint here and there but I think it'll look good as a Baja.

As for me, I've had over a dozen baja's over the years. The last one I made way to nice and, you guessed it, I couldn't get myself to use it off-road. Laughing That's what led me into the Things and finally this green one.

First I washed it with a car washing brush. That took a lot of the oxidation off. Then I used a product called Meguiars Cleaner Wax. It did a pretty good job for a clean/wax combo product. I'll probably go over it again in the future with a polishing compund and real wax.
