How many of you actually have and use a rear torsion adjuster? Is it worth it to install? Just asking since I have body off the pan, and wondering if I should install one.

If you use one, which do you have? I see that Pacific Customs has at least 3 different ones.

i don't have one in my car nor do i have any real 1st hand experience with them. i have heard of people who race their cars stripping them out or breaking the little adjuster keys. i've also heard that they can make reindexing the rear of the car a lot easier, just loosen them, install the torsions, and crank them back up.

the difference in the ones that are on pacific customs site is based on the size of the torsion tube. don't know what stock is off the top of my head, but 1 size listed will be for stock torsion tube and the others should be for if you're building a car from scratch and using some other tubing rather than the stock housing, would be my guess

Spend the money and get the Sway Away unit. Ask Desertrat87 how well the Empi copy holds up. I have the Sway Away one but have been to lazy to install it.

It doesn't I haven't had any problems with the arms or adjusting bolts. But I had to put a 1/2" plate under the adjustment bolts they were bending the housing in so they almost touched, Then I actually ripped the metal and crusched the other side of the adjuster, had to drive back home from Red Creek on a boworred pair of 4x4" boards Not fun but made some interesting videos check it out on www.arizonavolkswagenclub.com under trail talk and then Red Creek. Once back it was a supreme mother grinding out all of the old adjuster, I did pay for the sway-a-way night and day differance, I also supported the front of the adjuster by tying it into my frame. Would I recomend one? Defanetly. But get a good one and install it properly! After our 400 Miler I broke one of my custom 2x4" front arms again driving harder than the equipment was desined to go so now I'm in the prosses of upgrading to Fodrill arms and speed costs money so how fast do you want to spend!
