Well finished welding the rear bumper and frame supports. Got it all painted. Got the headers installed and tail lights all wired. But some coolant in the radiator and would you know it the thing has a leak. Guess thats what I get from the wrecking yard. Pulled out and took to radiator shop for repair. Hope to have it back in a week. More when I get it back.

Time for an update. The old radiator was scraped and installed new one. Got coolant topped off and started. Drove it out of the garage into the drive way under its on power and let it run for 30 min. Never got worm to turn on the fans. I hope that is a good thing. Drove it back into the garage. I ended up wanting to shorten and clean up all the engine wire so it is not running.

That was quite a job. Shortened all the wires that were left going to the pcm. There were 52 of them put all new ends going into the module. Got that done and tried a trip around the block. That was fun a little cold Shocked without the windshield and temp was 42 today. I still need to adjust the shift rod and shifter. Clutch and accelerator work great and it stopped straight, all the things that have been worked on and they work. Laughing

pepeazul, I found the best price and quality at Mouser Electronics.

GM wants $1.50 each that was way to much. The ones from Mouser look identical and have the same rating.

Did a little more work on the front end this time. Relocated the fuel pump on a bracket on the front beam. This made it much quieter. Got the spare tire mounted and ready to go.

hey im currently building my own baja and ive been wanting to build my own front end and i like urs. I was wondering if you still have the dimensions fr that front end so that i can base mine off of it

Cant say that I had any measurement. I just went to cutting, grinding and welding. I can put a tape to it and give you some rough measurements.

Give me a couple of days and I will pm you some numbers and other pictures of the build.

Had problems with the motor. It was running rich and would not accelerate. Went back and looked at all the wiring and checked for any vacuum leaks. The Tech 2 that I was should that I was getting random misfires all over the place. I finally pulled the pcm and sent it back to Ryan to have him check his work. Well, it was all good news from there. He had made some changes to the vats when deleting items but was able to correct every thing. So I got it back in and holy cow. This thing really has some get up and go it is almost scary. Now if it would get back up above freezing I would take it out and drive it. I guess I will have to look for a 12 volt heater.

I'd use solid copper tubes running the length of the Chassis tube, there should be plenty of room, but my concern would be chafing and leaks.

I guess you could build the heater into just behind the rear seat or underneath near the transaxle and use the existing heater tubes and plumbing for the airflow.

If it were me, I'd go for a factory air unit off of some small car that has a filtered airflow with both an evaporator and heater core so you can do A/C too and maybe simplify the ductwork needed.

It'd be a one off type of thing and a lot of work, but I don't see why it wouldn't be too difficult if you're handy and understand the components and how they work with each other. You'd have to have a Condenser too, but usually they go in front of the Radiator anyways and also have their own fan so you could put it anywhere that it'll get flow.

I'd love to have an air conditioned bug!

Okay, I have got all the windows installed but the back one. What a pain in the a_ _ . Any one have any suggestions on getting it in. I get it in all but the very top and it will not go down and in.

Your right a real PITA, if you got the windshield in without breaking it your ahead of the game. Weed eater line and clear silicone spray is how mine were installed, crossed over the ends by 8" or so, took some flat hand tapping from a second person outside, and we had to start with the window started all the way around pretty flat. I feel your pain, know a good glass guy?
