I know you can buy magnetic block heaters but that would do to good on a magnesium alloy case. If you keep your stock heater boxes I can see it paying off a little in your alaskan climate. My idea would be to route both heater boxes into the one tube that feeds the driverside heater channel and weld a plug in the other, this would give you twice the heat and have it blow on you before it hits the rest of the car. O and I wish you well on your snow driving, Be extra carful in a swing axle car.

I have seen little heaters that plug into a car power outlet one or two may keep you alittle warmmer just a thought from a new guy.

Davo, Fire up that gas heater!! Used to run one in Leadville Co (think AK) It worked awesome and used next to no fuel.

I'm looking for one for my baja.

I was just reading an article the other day on how much fuel they burn. and you are right, it is next to nothing. I have been driving it for the past two or three weeks and it has not been that cold in there, but yesterday it rained and the fog on the windows kind of sucked. I may try to hook it up for emergencies. I do have an extra one, but dont know if i want to get rid of it yet.
