Howdy, my name is Garret and I'm from Texas. I'm an EOD SGT in the Army. At the moment I'm stationed at Ft Hood in Killeen, Tx. I just picked up my first VW a week or so ago. It's a '67 and someone has already started to turn it into a baja. If I had a working camera I would post pics but I don't. I'm pretty excited about it except for the fact that it currently isn't running and I'm at a loss.

Welcome! And AMEN on the pics!

Start at the appropriate forum for your woes, and post away! The "search" function can be quite helpful also.

Pick up a couple of manuals too- they're well worth the money.

Lastly, from a former jarhead, THANKS for your service to our GREAT country!

I have a terribly messy garage. My other hobby is homebrewing and it takes up lots of space. Plus I just haven't had time to clean it out. I know shame on me.

I think most every vintage VW I've seen around (that isn't a resto) has a spaghetti-like abortion under the hood for wiring (including my own), so don't feel bad about that!

I USED to have a clean garage, but somehow I fell off the wagon. It's pretty messy nowadays. Sad

Thanks, yeah it's not too bad. The paint isn't the best and is cracking in places and there are some very minor rust spots on the bumper. Other than that the interior is actually pretty decent.
