I wonder if there is particular jack that is perfect for off-road trip?
easy to carry, tall enough for baja and not expensive?

I "aquired" a jack from a Honda CRV. Cheep light and lifts high enough.

JWH RAcing has a cool aluminium jack with an aluminium skid plate instead of wheels. I use a Hi Lift jack.

this is mine. its an aluminum jack from harbor freight. I took the wheels off and made an aluminum skid for it so it won't sink in the sand. its light enough to throw where you need it. it mounts under the front end with two pins and clips. the handle is mounted with a capped piece of tubing and a piece of tubing that has a spring in it that pivots. push the handle and swing it up and pull it out.

That is nice.

a old school bumper jack would work to you just need to put the slots or hooks etc. that work for the jack onto your car or just weld a foot onto it like a high lift jack.
