Chirco is a great place to buy from. Being a member on the site gets you a discount there also.

Some things that need changing on your shopping list...
The shifter may be too tall. (bus shifter)
The exhaust is for a street car.
Sand tires not good for all terrain.
The baja kit is for a super beetle, will not fit a standard.
The brakes are for a ball joint, a 1962 will be link pin.
To use the hydraulic pedals, you will have to cut the firewall.
Arm restraints are just that, to keep your arms in the vehicle when rolling. Start with 4 or 5 point harnesses.
Running boards will not fit on a baja.

Hope that helps.

well when you put up a shopping list like that...you kind of asked for it buddy.

that is quite the shopping list. i was thinking the same thing lol...like the scat shifter...ya its nice, but is it nessesary?? not at all. i have one in my street bug and just a standard empi in my baja. sure theyr cool but i would concentrate on the big stuff...like getting your suspension diald in. good suspension is the first thing i would worry about besides the engine.

i understand this is a list of things to do. heck i have one for both my cars about that long. but dont be suprised when you get a reaction to it.

alot of those parts u have listed you can find for a fraction of the price. some of it you want to buy brand new. so just keep your eyes open and you will find good deals.

have you found a car yet?

no need to explain yourself...just sayin you should of expected somthing..

if you want it to look like AZBAJAs car than your going to need 3x3 trailing arms and a +6 front beam. shocks and springs are your choice. but you need that stuff first or youll more than likly buy the wrong shocks.

if you want to run coilovers up front you need threw rods insted of torsions and your going to need longer front trailing arms for the coilover shock as well.

suspension and engine are the most important in a baja. everything else isnt that big of a deal.

good luck mate!!

bugzyla makes some sweet ones like the woods arms and they are very nice. front arms you can get from chirco..just be sure that you get the thru rods insted of torsions if you go with a coilover.

i would tell you to put a 10' shock tower on it for the 10' shock so you can get a bit more travel out of it. since your doing a front beam anyway you may as well get the most for your money.

foa has the best deal around for the shocks. im going to be getting some coilovers from them soon but i have heard nothing bad about them and they are a fraction of what king or fox would run.

but you would be suprised what you can find here on the site. bugzyla is the best guy around for offroad suspension parts and fabrication work.

Chill out bro. I didn't mean nothing by it. For all I know you may be a starving student like myself, but, when you do throw up an impressive list like that, its intimidating. Hell, at least you have a job.

Check out craigslist. I must have spent two years on forums and talking to people about the best stuff, and how you can tell when someone is scamming you on it. Thats how i got a 69 with a 1835, weber 40, compufire, 6 working offroad lights, chrome exhaust, an emaculate pan, AND a sunroof, for 1400 bucks. Of course it did need 500 bucks in paper work to get it street legal, and another 800 in stupidly spent money, but whatever. Their only wholes in the dessert for us to throw money into any way. Good luck in the hunt.

On your new list I would be more inclined to look at this exhaust.

Good call, then you can fit any bumper on there, my bumper only has three points because the muffler was in the way.
