I am looking at getting a new exhaust system for my '69 Baja and am considering a merged unit with a muffler and u bend. Does anybody else use that? How does it sound? I am currently running a straight merged system with a supertrap and am looking for something a little quieter but that still sounds good. Any suggestions?

might just be the angle of the picture but it looks like you're pushing hot exhaust air close to the cylinder??

If you turn the pipe 90' and have it face the back, your car will look like it has a sad pupy tail.

Go for the stinger for the happy puppy look

I'm running a u-bend with a stainless steel muffler. I was afraid that it would be too loud and might have to switch to a conventional muffler. After I got it installed I was quite surprised to find that it was actually fairly quiet. No problem having a conversation or listening to the radio while cruising down the road.

I run ceramic coated duals, I could get more power out of the 4 into 1 but I love the sound.....

I run a chrome tri mill w/ no baffle or bend and love the sound of it, besides if it was quieter I would hear all the rattles!!

on my other bajas I ran the trimill 4 to 1, welded an 18" glassback and a turned tip. just gotta remember you tennis ball or coffee can to cover it.
(tip: keep extra tennis balls, they are somtimes hard to find after they shoot out)

I run an EMPI ceramic coated 4 into one with a "stinger" augmentor. It sounds nice and will give you an audible edge when out off-roading in the desert. Load pipes are where it is at!
