Guys,

Anyone ever hear of using Porsche 924 suspension parts in Bajas? The rear suspension is a similar IRS semi trailing, same axle, torsion bar, and trailing arm type (at least at first brush).

The trailing arms are alloy, and seem beefier. Not sure. I could take some measurements, I suppose.

Oh, yes...I forgot to mention. My newest aquisition....a 1988 Porsche 924S.

It is not a typical 924, it has a 944 N/A engine, 2.5 liter inline 4, 10.5 compression 160 bhp made by Porsche, not Audi. Only made them 2 1/2 years, the last of the 924 series. Only 3000 or so imported in '88. I love it. And yes, it is fast in the turns. Shocked

Jeff

Yes 944 and 924 axles and trailing arms can be used. I THINK the cv's are bigger than type 1, but some more research would be in order.

Nice car BTW, I had a 924 turbo that I raced back in the 80's, it was the one w/factory wide fenders, looked like a 944.

Cool, Don. I'll look into it.

So....you had a 931 Carrera GT? Geez...do you know what that car is worth now?

Yikes.

It was a Carrera GT, didn't know the number. It was a racecar, already cut up. Back in 85 or so.

Those use the type 4 CVs. Same size as the bus but stronger and will handle more angles than the bus CVs.
