yeah
back in the day. now everything is so over priced. i remeber being a little kid and my parents paying 90 cents a gallon for gas.
well i say if you think that the body is to bad then just get another one.
who knows what is gone on it. hard to say.

yea I might just buy one I have been figuring up some prices hauling 900+miles vs. buying a body and I might just buy one and when I get a trailer of my own haul it when I happen to go home and see whats left of it.

I just found a '73 parts car on samba for $250 it says it is all there minus the motor even says a good tranny. If the guy calls me I might go this weekend and check it out. it is actually about 10 miles away. he posted it in may and just updated it 3 days ago so maybe I could get it for even less. definately glad I found this sight I have never heard of samba before I joined the az. you guys have been a big help in just the last week so THANKS alot.

heck I'm only 25 and remember always wondering why the stations advertised regular and unleaded. as for the over priced thing I know what ya mean, when I first bought the 71 I went through and priced every thing I wanted and it was only going to cost me $7000 or so that included the 1743 bored to a 1900+ turbo ready (without the turbo) and pretty much the longest travel suspension I could find aluminum interior and no cage.

now days you see a stock beetle with no mods at all full 52 horses and they want like $10,000 cause it saves on gas. I would get a moped to save gas if it meant paying ten grand for stock horses and interior. they act like it is a hard build and they are going to get everything they spent on the car back including the gas. Heck give me my $125 sewing machine and a couple yards of fabric and I could call mine slick just look how complicated the head liner is.

lol
yeah i got my car at a good price. actually alot les then what the guy was wanting to get for it. a hole grand actually. i guess that is the mastering jewing down method i have obtained over the years. lol.
anyways.
my car is offroad ready and 4 thousand in parts. guy was asking 35 got it for 26 left with title in hand the next day. and it is completely done nice. cage, awesome running engine, pretty nice offroading seats, aluminum dash, almost everything that i was looking for and a little more.
anyways point aside.
people just ask to much for something these days over price everything.
i think that you will have fun if you can get the sedan back to your house and get it media blasted replace the pans. get a good strong engine or build one and bam your ready to go. basically.

I have to say i wouldn't bring it that far. I would call a junk yard and sell it all for scrap. Please don't hate me. and find something that is a good start closer to where you live. Bajas that are in good shape are really a dime a dozen. If you look around on the craigs list and samba and auto trader, and if you aren't a hurry you will find something with in a month or two that is right what you are looking for.
