So I decided a while back to re-do the rear suspension to a more traditional shock setup through the wheel wells. It was a pain to go back to the drawing board, but I'm happy with the ride now.

While I was at it, I added 2X2 tubular arms from Appletree and added some disc brakes.

That looks good. What brand of brakes did you use? Did you leave drums on the front

Those are EMPI brakes with the e-brake cables. The cables do fit even with the 2x2 arms. The rotors are the ones with some extra width to them. I'm using drums up front.

Thank you....

Thank you...

I think my solution for a back seat also worked out good. I needed something that would fit in between the new shocks. Turns out a seat from a Jeep fits nicely. I found this one in a salvage yard and had it reupholstered to match.

These foam bolsters cover up the space between the seat and body nicely.

The back even folds down for some storage.

If anybody needs a good upholstery contact in the west valley, I'll give you her number....

So tell me what you think...I came up with an idea for a bump stop and a limit strap combined. I cut off the stock shock mounts/bump stop combo (this gets cut off most of the time to give clearance to longer shocks anyway) and had the idea to reverse them.

Notice this one is backwards.. It turns out that the stop will contact the trailing arm and the bolt hole may give me an option for a limit strap down the road.

We added a verticle brace to support the arms when contacted.

Generic bumpstop for now.

I found the EMPI part number: 22-2927-F

There were a pain to bleed because the bleeder valve does not sit at the highest point unless you bleed them off the brackets. Just position the bleeder valve up top, bleed, then bolt them up.

So I was getting a nasty wind slap inside the car when going over 45 MPH because of the ragtop opening. I realized it was likely due to the fact that I swapped out the pop-out windows in the quarters for stationary glass. Pop-outs would have let the wind pressure escape, which is probably why they were included on a ragtop from VW. Didn't think of that until it was too late.

My solution was to add this Yakima rack and wind fairing.

Works good, and gives me some more options down the road.

So I think I'm done. Took it up to Crown King and got a little muddy.

Nothing major planned for a while. Just adjustments and fixing stuff that breaks.
