So progress has been at a steady pace but still kinda slow. The boxes and drawers of parts are finally being emptied and put back on to the car. The lights are on besides some fogs and maybe some on the rack. Dynamat is about 75% done but I had to order more. The roof, floor, and under the hood still need to be done and i will also probably put a second layer in the doors. I started the headliner tonight and lets just say it was not the greatest of starts. Having some trouble with the fabric maybe because of the cold weather and probably because i have never done this before. The door panels are covered as well but i dont have pictures yet but will soon. As soon as i can figure out this headliner i will put the windows in which should be tomorrow or tuesday. So on to the pictures before i make this book any longer......

Here is a little something im doing. My window cranks are not solid so i Am going to put some beer caps in here. So please share your favorite German beer with me and maybe yours will be in there.

And a little playing...

So i would like to give a time estimate but as most of you know ALL of my previous predictions have been way overshot so i guess i will keep you posted.

Looking good! Where'd you pick up the dynamat? Everywhere I've looked the prices have been pretty close. You know of any sweet deals? Thanks...

Oh yea you guys have been missing the hiddin jem of dynamat sales. This is not name brand "Dynamat" this is fatmat the only big differince is the thikness. This "fatmat" is 1.0 mil and name brand "Dynamat" is 1.7 mil. But the cost difference makes up for it. >Here< on ebay Dynamat is $140 for 36sq ft and fatmat is $90 for 100 sq ft so you can put two to three layers in the amount of space you could with the other. So it was actually relatively cheap. and well worth it Smile but does anyone have speaker location suggestions because im not to thrilled about what i have come up with so far....thanks guys.

oh and about the picture i did that on my picture host photobucket.com they have a lot of little effects you can put on a picture and you can size it down to avatar size too!

Freakin sweet! Thanks man, I had an inkling it didn't look exactly like dynamat.

Just curious, are you using yours for cutting down on road noise in general? Or using it more for loud stereo purposes? Does that make sense?

p.s. the beer bottle cap idea is genius too.

Uh I would say that the loud stereo is the reason but this is going to be my daily driver and i do mean daily...all day...so the cut down on road noise and the cold is just an added bonus. Now i know this is not traditional to the bajas here but I really wanted a baja that i could sit and drive all day and still be comfortable and then hit the trails while camping and stuff. When this one is done i think im gonna do 3x3's, coilovers, cage, the whole works on seperate vehicle that can be stored. THank you I always apreciate the compliments but I still dont know what beer i should be in there so any suggestions????

OH and i scrapped the headliner and im just gonna do kinda spray over it because it looked horrible for the effort i put into it so i guess live and learn....i will have pics later

look into a headliner, they help a lot with the noise.

and if you want I can send you some Kiltlifter caps. just cause Kiltlifter is awesome beer.

navynuke is right, a couple of weeks ago I hit up four peaks brewery. I sampled all but one or two of the brews and they were all super epic and delicious.

Ok a little progress has been made. I put the fixed windows in yesterday and tried to get the one piece doors in but the glass seems to be to big for the door and it hits the regulator on the way down. Any suggestions with these things...I know 57 has them. Also the "Headliner" is in but it really is just the dynamat painted over and i have to wait to do the roof with the vinyl for my dynamat to come in. The wiring is coming along just fine but have not really been focusing on that for now. Hopefully more to come soon. Tell me what you think.

This was going to be on the car but the two types of paint didnt want to work with each other. I will probably get a decal made like this though
