BORROWING THIS INFO: I think it was Rickosuave from STF was locating the position for his upper mounts. Get a large piece of cardboard and locate it approx where you want the mounts. Go to full droop and draw an arc ~30" from the lower mount. Go to full bump, measure the shock length (using the travel)at that point and draw another arc. Where the 2 lines cross would be a good place to start, then get as close to 90 degrees from the trailing arm at full compression.

Good advice. the 90' is important to keep in mind. Hard to get on the front than the rear. But if you do not have or never hit that 90' your never fully useing your shocks/coilovers

The car is looking awesome, I am glad you were the one that bought it and could make it what it deserves to be. The wheels and tires are exactly what I wanted to put on them. Nice job on the suspension. I would like to see it in person some time if that is ok.

Hey Drummond, I was looking closer at your pictures and I really dig your rear light set up. I was wondering about those bullet shaped lights, where'd you get them and how are they mounted? They look awesome!

The round tail lights on my rear bumper are pretty much the same as yours and I kinda want to run a second set for turn signals. But I need to figure out a creative way to do it (don't wanna weld tabs on etc...) and don't really wanna run another set of round lights. Thanks.

James

Nice baja. I just put my pedal assembly back in (new roller pedal) cuz i wanted to drive it so bad tomorrow, and not the 96' ram (dads truck).

I love my baja even tho its not near as nice as yours!

Bro. I know you're probably tired of hearing this, but that is a helluva bug. One thing that I happened to notice that scared me a bit:

I've seen this nut fall off more than once. I was running with a guy a couple of months ago where it fell off and the only thing that held it all together was the fact that the tire wouldn't let it slide completely off.

Some guys will use a castle nut with a pin up against that special nut you already have on there. I just use a regular nut up against mine with a couple drops of Loctite.

Nice job on the front end cut. Measure...Cut...(Sweat a little bit)...Measure...Cut...Measure...Cut...(Sweat a little bit more)...Measure...Cut...(Sweat a little bit)...Measure...Cut...Measure...Cut...(Sweat a little bit more)...Measure...Cut...(Sweat a little bit)...Measure...Cut...Measure...Cut...(Sweat a little bit more)....
DONE! Aghhh.....

THANKS FOR THE HEADS UP 57.. THATS THE KINDE OF THING I NEVER THINK OF UNTEL ITS TO LATE!!!!!!!!!!!

This place rocks !!

No prob. Just tryin' to help a baja brother out.

Put up a picture of your link pins, too. I was looking at them in your picture, but can't quite see them well enough, so I didn't say anything earlier. If they're the nylock type that come with the HD pins, that's another common thing to fall off. Throw them in the trash and double nut them with two 5/8" fine thread jam nuts. I've also seen guys use castle nuts and a pin, but that requires drilling, and I chose to do it the easier way.

They are and I will thank you !
Question how often do you guys have a run?
I am from Cali. and the video from Big Bear really brought back some memories.

The Holcomb Valley is one of my favorites.

When she is done I would like to come along.

It's a long ways from Phoenix out here. Are you sure you want to make a run like that?

We do a run every month. Just keep an eye on the SoCal Bajas section in this website. I always post info there.

There's talk of a Mojave Road Run this year, which starts at the Colorado River and heads west to Mojave. That would be a fun one for ya. Love to have you along on any run we do. You're always welcome, as is anyone from this site. Holcomb Valley is a blast, huh? Went up there three times this summer.
