It sure would be nice to go. In another forum you wrote you jetted it for 7000 ft. How much different was the jetting from local to that? Once my car is done, I would like to go explore the White Mountains. I have quite a bit of land by St. Johns.

I usually take 1 and 2 sizes smaller idle and main jets with me. This time I could not find my Zenith jet kit and am running 3 sizes smaller, which is a little lean especially in upper midrange and top end. It acts like I have 3/4 throttle. The valley jets had more power but wanted to load up (very un Zenith like) if I was not careful and mileage was way down.

Howdy from the White Mountains of Sunny Arizona. I would love to go riding up here if and when you get back up.And maybe you could show me the jetting thing.I just picked up a 62 baja and I feel the need to jet it as it seems it needs something.

I will let you know when I am going back. The one thing I learned about riding up there is you need displacement. Until this last trip I had always gone up with my 2180 installed. It had enough grunt to drive around at 8-10k feet with 33 " tires. This time it was with an 1835 with a VZ 15 cam. Start with one size smaller idle and main jet. Bumping compresion up a point would not hurt. Both of mine run 9.5 to 1 at 1200 feet. I would like to try 10.5 to 1 with the 1835.
