Hey guys,
I'm going to replace the whole harness in my Baja as soon as I drop the body back onto the pan.
I'm converting to altenator so what year harness should I get Question
My manual covers 66-69 and the wire diagram shows generators only.

Stick with the 66 harness, its alot less wiring and extra crap to hook up. Its easy to convert the harness to an alternator, all you have to do is run the post terminal wire from the alternator straight to the positive on the battery, and then the wire that goes to the 61 terminal on the regulator goes to the push on spade terminal on the alternator. Thats it.

Well, my concern was mainly around the elimination of the regulator under the rear seat since the altenator has it built in. I didn't want to have a break in the harness. I figured later year models w/altenators wouldn't have that splice.

Thanks for the info Bug-Z.

Well guys and gals, I've completed my chassis and dropped the body down, complete with a 3" lift.
Now I'm ready for the harness.
I'm looking at Watsons-streetworkks for $350 w/fuse box.
I know most of you did your own but I don't have that kind of time
What do the rest of you think?.
Any other ideas/places?

I used Streetworks. I never wired a car before in my life. I was able to get it right about 95% of the way. You have to figure a few things out for yourself (like the blinker switch). I will help you any way I can. The guys in the electrical forum of shoptalkforums.com were life savers. Couldn't have done it with out them. That said.....everything works great on my car. I'm very proud of the fact that I did it myself. It looks good too. Nice modern fuses and upgradable.

It is a great harness I have installed three of them in my cars. You will be very happy. I get all my street rod and custom stuff from them.
