Does anyone down in az have a connection to a good machine shop or fabrication shop? I'm still out of work up here in the great white north. I could come down there and work for a while see how i like it and then maybe pull up stakes here. I have an aunt and uncle that live in scottsdale i could stay with for a while. Thanks, Todd

I think everyone's hurting down here too. From what I read on other forums, high-dollar toys and related businesses are slow. Even the private sale of used stuff is slow right now.

Maybe someone else has something different to tell ya...

I agree that the high end toys are being put away, but the low end toys are still going strong. I have enough work for about 4 months right now, but dont have enough to hire another guy right now.

Get in touch with a company call Milling Machinery here in Mesa, They have been around forever and do a lot of welding/fab work on water tanks and that kind of stuff. Their number is 480-964-9041

Also there are about 10+ trailer manufacturers in the east valley here, look in the online yellow pages for trailer mfg in phoenix area.

I was also told by the metal place I buy my steel from that several companies laid off workers at the first of the year because they couldnt prove they were legal citizens. (because of the new AZ labor law)

You can try to call Wild West Steel Supply and see if they may know anyone looking for help 480-813-1500

Hey, I have a CNC resume, and there is plenty here if you are qualified, especially aerospace, etc.

I moved here and am actually getting in with the National Guard full time as an aircraft mechanic (Apache mechanic, specifically. I have been in the Guard for years as an infantryman, but they are training me ), but there are plenty of opportunities for someone as qualified as yourself.

Jump in, the water is fine!

Jeff
