how much is there to do when switching from ball joint to linkpin front end? is it just the beam itself and the frame head? or is there more to it?

can someone help?

Do you want to maintain the stock lengrh of the car? I added 4" to the length of mine in the process of switching over.

I can build you a link pin beam that will bolt into ball joint frame head, but I dont have the spindle carriers yet to make the geometry work perfect, but it will still work. I am still trying to fing a reliable machine shop to produce the carriers.

I swapped mine over to king & link from ball joint. All the books say you need a new frame head, because the torsion tube spacing is wider on the ball joint than on the king and link set-up. I did it without changing the frame head. I just got out my Sawzall and my welder and made the damn thing fit. When I did it, I switched to long travel, and used a 6" wider beam. I also switched the steering out to to rack and pinion. Aside from a complete front end (spindle to spindle including shocks), you may need to modify or use a different steering box if you're going to stick with the stock set-up. You may also have to modify the actual steering shaft, too, as it will be slightly different geometry, as the steering box bolts to the upper torsion tube. It's all do-able, and if you have decent fabrication skills, it can probably be done without buying anything except welding wire and spray paint, assuming you have a working parts car that you're swapping stuff from.

Hope that helps.

$300 for stock width with any length shock towers, $350 for widened beams up to 12 over with any length shock towers.
