We'd like to get to know you and your vehicle. Tell us about you and more imprtantly, your car. Pictures are VERY important. (How else are we going to drool over it?) Oh ya, where the heck are you? You'll see me tonight, me there's not much to know other than I'm married with children..

My Bug, well there certainly isn't much to drool over right now. It's kinda thrown together, first when I got it and now just a little more professional (what a difference 5 years makes in your knowledge), but has a long way to go to be "done". Oh I didn't mention cash, I had more this time, albeit not the way I like to get it. Had to total an Xterra and sell off all my extras. Sad

Pictures, I would have liked to post some, but I just haven't had the time. I might get some up Friday, but I plan on working hard at getting it to fire up and most likely wont have the time to play on the net. Plus posting pictures of a car sitting on Jackstands, seems a little redneck. Wink

Here's to happy days ahead! Cheers!
Adam

Very Happy Okay I am retired Canadian Military, age 66, live in Canada all summer (Manitoba) and winter in s. USA (TX, AZ, etc) Past restores besides aircraft include 1950 Studebaker, 1960 MGA, 1975, MGB, 1976 Chev Van, 1979 Chev 3/4 Ton.
Bought my long sought VW 2 weeks ago, a 1962 daily driver. Expected some rust but wow. Have cut out floor pans and heater channels, repaired under fenders and door posts, ready to put in new pans and channels.
We will dress this car up as a "Herbie" and tow it behind our 37 foot 5th wheel trailer and 1 ton diesel dually when we go south.
My tip of the day - if you are going to restore, cut rust or bodies, get a plasma arc torch and a small gas MIG welder.
Current problem - trying to get new rubber gaskets around windows ---Grrrr!!!! Evil or Very Mad any hints?

well, Im not a new guy, but a new gal. I moved to az about 8months ago and I have had my 1965 baja since mid august. It is my first stick and I drove it down here from Bend Oregon (down the 1) through cali.

after I bought my baby I soon realized that I paid to much for it. I have had the kingpin front end redone and I have changed the boots, fan alternator, fuel filter (many many time!), and I keep on fixing it. this is all one reason why I got it. to learn, and do it my self.

I found you guys on google and I need help.

she's broke down, and I have never used one of these forum things, so im not sure how to go about it. -not that computer savvy.

-im also not sure how to put a picture up either. lol.

...oh, and i'm based in Prescott.

please help me if you can.

thanks!

Welcome to the site! Ditto on what Eric said- just start a thread in the appropriate forum whenever you have a question, and hopefully you'll start getting feedback right away.

As for posting pics- which can be VERY helpful when in need of technical help, just open a free account at photobucket.com, and upload your pics to there from your computer. You can have multiple albums on there, etc. Once the pic is loaded, you'll see four lines of text underneat the pic. The bottom one starts with [IMG]- that's the one you want. Just copy that line of text (right mouse click, select COPY), and then come back to Azbaja and paste it in your post, and VOILA! the pic just shows up here. Cool, huh? Just don't move the pic around in photobucket, or delete it over there, because then it won't show up in your post here (or anywhere else you use the link) anymore.

Start your own thread in this New Member forum when you have time, and again, welcome!

If you have any probs with the pic posting steps, shoot me a PM and I'll see what I can do to help.
