Yep I was looking at some othe cars also. The difference is this is a real convertible with a lot of extra stiffners in the back. the donor piece I am welding in back there has alot more clear fender space. I'll make it work. Your right its gonna be and is a fun challenge

I think that's why we all do it Smile .

I have the 944 bars in it now. Somebody said 23mm but I am gonna mic em. Mark @ BCR said I would twist out the inner splines on the torsion housing if I played rough, so the coil over will be an upgrade afta I get the car running. Tomorrow is friday for me..I am working a 4-10 schedule and I hope to get some work done on the car on my days off.

Hey give me your thoughts on this idea. I am thinking I want to redrill the big frame horns holes and drop the tranny down 1/2". I have the room at the cv's.

Heck, you could completely hack off the rear frame horns if you're in that deep already. You could fabricate a new set up from 1-12" tubing and tie in into your cage for additional support. That way, you could set it up from scratch and have it EXACTLY the way you want it.

IT WORKED....
Droped the motor mount 1/2 inch, the axles are now at 12 degrees. could have gone a little more but I got what I wanted,,the valve cover is off the rear deck.
Right side before and after....

Left side before and after...

The plugs...

Got to use my tubing bender today, not sure Iam totaly happy with it. But I was able to get the bottom support rail in.....its not complete as I will grind and blend the welds in. I either have to widen my front end again or get wheels with zero offset.

I think its about 4" , not exact. The wheels are offset to the inside about 3", I have been searching for different wheel, I found that the G-Class Mercedes has the 5x130 bolt pattern. 8x16" Rubicon
