Hey when did this thread get here?
You know if ya just look at the pic's here and don't look at the dates it looks like a weekend project, I am looking at a year so far. I have changed motor ideas, trannies, cut the front off and the back off. My wife comes out and says, "hey, where did your car go!" Body on then body off, motor on then motor off, then stack it all up and move it all for a little more work on the work area. I think over the last year I have had like 40 hours of real work time on the car.
The spread sheet says I am ok
Spent 8000.70
Sold 5609.51
TOTAL EXPENSE 2391.19



but I cannot buy time.
AS I am typing I see the clock says time for another trip to the real job, so one pic of where it all began with this project then off to the salt mine.

I sold this


and bought this.

Not sure who makes the rear piece but I am gonna use it. I raised it up a bit in this pic.
BTW if you hear of a guy named Ken Kenevan trying to sell you convert parts, say no he is a rip off. Got me for 3 hundred.

This body was hacked bad.
no dash


Dash, BTW be careful if you weld around the windshield, there is alot of solder around the window posts and the defrost vents.

no rear deck


Tomorow I hope to finish the welds and fit the body on "one more time"

The dash was a pain but it had better metal to weld to than the rear deck. I have yet to finish the rear, looking at building a rotesary. Most of the body/pan fastners need replacing, and it would be easier if the car could be flipped.
Come down with the cold bug for my days off but I was able to get out and make a trade today on a gas tank, it sits nice in the package tray. Have a look and let me know if the gas tank placement will leave room for the long shocks needed for the rear set up.

I've got a similarly sized and shaped tank in mine, and I've got plenty of room for coilovers. After studying these pictures, though, it seems like my inner fender surfaces are much wider inside. Is that posssible? It looks like you have an extra box looking thing that may have been part of the rear seat mechanism? That will probably need to come out, but you should have room. It's gonna be a challenge. It wouldn't be fun unless it was, though.

Yep I was looking at some othe cars also. The difference is this is a real convertible with a lot of extra stiffners in the back. the donor piece I am welding in back there has alot more clear fender space. I'll make it work. Your right its gonna be and is a fun challenge
