Here's the bug my girlfriend and I bought with our returned apartment deposit (I just bought my first house with a garage, woohoo!):

We also picked up the front end of a used bug eye Baja kit for $200 with the oddest shaped hood I've ever seen. We got the back-up lights working, but still need brake lights to get it registered, then we'll drive it until winter really hits hard. After that, it's going to be cut up, cleaned up, and modded! It runs great, it did 60 mph up the mountain pass home, I was thrilled.

We're both really excited. I've never done body work before (or VW work at all), and my gf is new to the whole wrench monkey experience and is anxious to learn. I've already garnered a ton of info from this site, thanks a bunch. I look forward to hanging out here more.

Good point! I get the evil eye when I spend money to work on mine. And I don't think I could get her to help if I tried!

It's great to have someone who supports you and join in. My wife has always helped me with the choppers I used to build. I'm looking forward to her help on the bug now.

Good luck and enjoy the time together

For the record, I'm just razzin ol' Kyle. It's a guy thing, right? Just like pokin' fun at your mother-in-law- even if you LIKE her, you've gotta make fun of her when in the company of other guys, right?

Thank God my wife has no interest in reading this forum... Laughing

I guess I got lucky. My wife is quite the team player. As a matter of fact she is doing 90% of the planning for the bbq in a few weeks. Very Happy Very Happy
