Thanks for all the ideas guys.
I appreciate the offer AZ but I think the drive might prohibit it.
Here's the rundown from today.
Completely ruined the paint that I took it apart for in the first place. Evil or Very Mad
Replaced the vacuum block offs on the carb and the end casting.
Tightened the $@&* out of the end castings. (Used a 1/2 " drive rachet)
Did the same to the carb with a wrench.

Tomorrows run down?
PERMATEX THE CRAP OUT OF EVERYTHING Exclamation
While I'm at it, I'm going to turn the generator right side up.
I'll let you guys know what happens. Heck, I don't think I can make it any worse.

The good news is that my brother has the same problem after cleaning and painting. That means there is just something not put back together right!

Are you thinking intake leak? If you're hunting a leak like that, try spraying carb cleaner on the connections that you suspect may be leaking (while it's idling) and see if the rpms change.

Just a thought...

Hope you find the problem!

Very Happy Very Happy Laughing Cool Permatex worked! I just need to tweak the carb a little I think to get it back to the way it was before. Still don't have 100% accelleration, I'd say 95%, but it does not have a vacuum leak anymore.
Thanks for all the ideas!
