Here are a few pics from this week. Blue baja is on hold for a few days waiting on parts. We have a rail thats getting updated, we replaced the rear torsion, adding to the some tubes to the frame and supports and other misc things ( I actually owned this rail about 20 years ago). The next one is Project Earnest, first pic is some quality 15x12 wheels from Chirco waiting on the rubber to get here in the AM for mounting. Next is the pan after installing new pan halfs (also from Chirco) and adding IRS pivot brackets, shifter box to run the shift tube above the tunnel for the 002 bus trans, and other small mods, then it was covered in Herculiner. More updates next week. Tomorrow Dons car (AKA DONT) comes in for the "treatment" More pics as we go. Just got a new Band Saw today too, gotta assemble it in the morning so we can play with it. Very Happy

We dont need no stinking fenders Mr. Green We will put the widest possible fenders on it, and we were planning on the wheels sticking out a little. ( A LOT Mr. Green )

Wheels & Tires $900, New floors with installation about $300, Front beam about $300, Other parts and labor and herculiner about $1400. The bus trans and rear suspension was pulled from another car the customer brought over.

The rears are 33x12.50-15s on a 15x12 wheel. I have the same size tires on Zyla except on 15x10 wheels. Now for ThingZyla, we will see, but probably the same combe as on the Earnest Project, but with 3x3 arms. Twisted Evil

Stinkbug has a great Idea! I have the How to Build a Baja /Buggy book. It's the "revised" edition and it's still a little out of date. The things I've seen just on the site is WAY beyond that book. Don't get me wrong that book has some great info but I'd like to see some newer info. I think the technology and fabrication has improved greatly in the last few year.

Food for thought Guys!!

The body cleaned up so nice. What's the best way to get the metal stripped like that in Phoenix? Where's the best place to get the body sand/media blasted?

Well we used a company on this one that I wouldnt recomend for doing the body, but is OK for doing floor pans. Their blaster is too high pressure and cause some distortion in the metal. I believe there is a place called pro strip? that does media blasting.

I will post some pics in the next few days, the body is now on the pan, and the windows are going in.
