look at the front shocks if they are struts its a super, if they are just shocks , its a standard and a yes to buy!!

i think in the 70,s not certen , look for the struts.

ok good. is the beetle to old to make into a baja, in terms of engine displacement and the gears and stuff. It wont be a syncro #1 but the other gears will be right?

what about for engin size, i think it is only 1200 or 1300 cc

That's the beauty of a bug. You can put a 15 or 16 in very easily.
It's probably a 6 volt system though so you will need a voltage regulator, a light conversion kit, a starter and a new flywheel. All for 12 volts. Don't worry it sounds much worse than it is. Make sure you keep track of what year the engine and flywheel come from. (6 volt and 12 volt starters and flywheels have a different number of teeth.)
If you can't find a flywheel, a 6 volt starter and flywheel will work but, you can't crank the engine for long periods of time. Yes it will eventually burn up the starter, but it won't be right away. It will just crank faster.

thanks it sounds good. I also located a rolling floor pan, trans and all. Still working out a price. Its in great condition, no rust at all.
