Hello all,
I had a 71 Super Bug back in the 80's. I treated it like it was a Baja! Picked up a used 65 Baja about 2 years ago after being in a rollover in a friends Manx. Figured more protection would be better Wink
I used it for about 6 months, but then I was TDY for the last 18 months so it was neglected under some trees in So Cal. Just got it moved here to AZ and starting to work on it. Oh boy, does it need work.
I see you have other Dodge members in here. I have a 69 Charger that is in better shape than the buggy, but it doesn't run yet either. (20 year restoration project. lol)
I've got 16 years in the AF as a Jet and Turboprop mechanic so if you want to convert your Bug, maybe I can help. Twisted Evil

I think you can still get GE TF-34 conversion kit for you Baja, It cool thing about it is that you are still aircooled just like a stock VW engine, No Radiators.

Plymouth 360 Duster is my other Toy...

Most GE TF-34 come in a 2 pylon set up, but for the people on the low doller side of things you can go for a single pylon set up. I think you can mount it in the same place as the roof scoop.

I was thinking more along the lines of a APU geared to the transmission (can you put 41000 RPM to a VW trans???) But if you did put the TF-34 on the roof, you could take the wings & tail from a T-37 and mout it to the bug..... Twisted Evil
