I am about ready to paint the baja I just put together. Should be painted in a week or two. In the past, I have used a couple quarts of rustoleum on an old beater bus and didn't thin it. Shot it from an air sprayer and then rolled it with a roller. Stepped back a few feet and shot it again. I was looking for a textured look. The bus was a darker green and with the texture, it turned out like an avacado. Essentially, that is the look I am after, but in baby blue.

I keep reading on the Samba about guys that have used farm implement paint and bulldozer paint. Is this paint any different than the oil based rustoleum you get in a can? I am going to texture paint it again because it tends to hide alot of the imperfections. Makes the finish look tough too.

Where would I buy the farm implement paint or bulldozer paint? I am in Flagstaff, but could run to Phx in a few weeks and pick something up. I would like to stay with the lighter blue color though. Do they make the implement or bulldozer paint in this color?

You guys have been great in answering my questions and letting me hi-jack a few threads. Thanks in advance. John

I used Rust-O-Leum and it turned out great. I textured it by sprayin it on with my regular paint gun, just really high pressures and I think it turned out great.

Just a word of caution though, I have found that the paint takes quite a bit longer to cure than regular paint, so just plan accordingly, and if you have to sand any spots, let it sit for about a week first

Call Bob Thompson at Southwest Sandblasting & Painting 602-620-1483. Tell him Daryll from Action Grafix sent you. All he does is blast and paint heavy equipment, so he should be able to direct you to the right stuff.
