OK here are some pics, like I said, early stages but I also have a ton of parts I am going to throw on soon. I have seats, gas tank, sprint bars, roll bar, wheels (no tires, or else they'd be on), skid plate, engine cage, light bar and head lights, door panels and dash (comin in mail), rear fenders, and that is probably it. I am painting it two-tone blue and black and it will have a blck "'74" on each door. They paint is being done by can Very Happy and is further along than these pictures show.

What I've done so far, isn't much in writing. I took off the body and began restoring the chasis; cleaned up the suspension, killed rust, painted it. Welded on new pans an on top and bottom of them went over it again with rubberized undercoating. Cleaned up the transmission and put a 3 inch body lift on (i do not recommend it though, anymore) and then put the body back on. Sanded everything down to prep it for paint and started painting, tore it apart, did some cutting, put on the front end, and that's kinda where it stands right now. I will try and get the interior finished by the time winter break (ya, im in school) ends. I do have an engine, 1600, in the basement needing new heads. Woring ona tight budget and wanting to finish this by June, it will probably be mostly stock for this summer season. I might sell my daily driver and buy a back up an engine and make this my daily. Took a stab at my first baja bug video (not my baja, a friend of mine) and it can be seen here. www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HaN_57rIAk it is 11 minutes long and has a good ending Wink it is kinda long because I mostly made that video for MIke, the driver, because he moved out of state just days later.

On the interior, assume that what is red still will get black carpeting over it

for now. I hear that 181 spindles can solve that problem though so I have kind of looked into buying some, but not yet too much. I'm kinda focused on getting this tihng on the road, then I'll worry about some of the not so immediate worries. I also hear the 181s will lift her up 3 inches Wink but finding them cheap or used hasn't been easy.

Nothing wrong with balljoint beams. I have a 6 inch wider on in my baja, and a stocker in my rail, they both hold up fine for moderate use.

The thing arms and spindles are stronger, and give you about 3 inches of lift, but you want gain any travel. Good luck finding a set at a reasonable price.

Just hang on for a few months, I will be building linkpin beams, that will bolt into a balljoint frame head.
