Hey guys I'm new here just wanted to interduce myself. I'm from Montana and inherited a half completed [
color=black]'69 Baja Bug from my father-in-law about a year ago. Unfortunately I deployed to the Middle East shortly after he gave it to me so I haven't done any work on it yet. I'm heading home soon and will start working on its shortly. I've never really messed with anything larger than a lawnmower engine but I'm pretty excited to start this project. I've been watching YouTube videos about the 1600 engine for the past couple of weeks and feel pretty confident about working on it. I have a manual that my F-I-L gave me but if anyone can recommend any good books, I'm all ears.

Welcome to the site and thank you or your service my son is in Kuwait at the moment and also did a tour in Afghanistan, that being said there is a wealth of knowledge on this sight to help you with your project so keep in touch and come on down to AZ in Nov. for the playday much warmer than Montana.
