Messed up big time this morning I accidentally stripped one of the two big bolt hole that the trans-axle mount to. Any ideas on how i can fix this? Don't know the size of the bolts and am having trouble trying to figure out if i should buy a threader tool or what. Any help would be greatly extremely appreciated.

buy a bigger tap and tap out each side... bring the old bolt to the tool shop so they can tell you what is the next size up is. I would go with a standard thread type .... Or weld a bolt into the hole and use a nut to attach the mount.

I think it's a 18 x 1.25 a heli coil will set you back around sixty bones! you might be able to tow it to a vw garage/ machine shop and they'll do it for you. Daltons Idea would be the easest though, good lusk and please let us know how it turned out!

Thanks for the help guys am gonna just weld a bolt into both hole and mount it using a nut. Should work, and ought to be easier than tapping a new one out etc.
