Nice pics! On the spindle issue... try turning the king pin 180 and re install the link pins through the other side.

Hedrock, you were absolutely right!!! Problem solved. On another note, the tie rods that I have are too long and need to be cut shorter.

So I'm finally getting close to finishing this build. I did come across a slight problem when reinstalling the front and rear seats.
So the back of the rear seat will need to have the top corners cut out. I cut out the metal but left all of the material. The bottom of the back seat might have to be cut a little too. I haven't figured it out yet.
The two front seats were a @#tch to install because of the roll cage. I would highly recommend putting at least the bottom parts of the seats in place on the rails before putting in the cage. Once the cage is in the seats will NOT slide back onto the rails. The cage is in the way. I had to cut a portion out of the top of the rails to get the seats back on.
I ordered seat covers from Wetokole and they are AWESOME. I would highly recommend them, unless you can find someone that reupholsters cheap.

I had another request for pictures. Sorry it has veen a while since an update. I finished the build and then promptly blew the engine. I decided to change the oil since the engine had been sitting so long, when I did I failed to notice that the oil filter gasket staye attached to the engine block and not the old oil filter. So when I put the new oil filter on it only sealed until the old oil filter gasket heated up enough to fail and pump out all of the oil in the engine..... bummer. So now I am in the process of rebuilding the engine. Bright side... PIMP computer for the engine, Esslinger roller cam and rockers, over sized valves = 300+ hp.

A note on the rack and pinion install, not sure I covered this before...
I needed to weld a plate to the bottom of the adpter bracket to raise it a little bit. Also I needed to raise the rear of the gas tank slightly to clear the steering shaft. I used some left over body gasket and folded it over once or twice to get the clearance needed.

Here are some of the requested pictures. They can be found in project builds:

Kinda skipped all that Baja body stuff since I know rails not beetles, my buddy just chucked his puck style clutch plate because it chattered and didn't slip very smoothly in the dirt when he was trying to ease over stuff.

Update. I recently installed disc brakes in the back, which called for new rims due to the bolt pattern going from 4 lug to 5 lug. I never really got the car aligned since it drove straight and I didn't think it needed it.... well the new rims have a large offset and I found out quickly (nearly crapped my pants) that my alignment was way off. It seems that the old rims with little offset didn't expose the fact I needed an alignment but with the wide rear end I could barely go straight down the road. This leads me to the point, when getting the car aligned I found that the Canter was way off due to the fact that when I installed the front beam I put it on to straight. The top of the front beam needs to lean back. This was easily corrected by getting some shims for about $20. So now I can go down the road straight and the new rear disc brakes are awesome!
