Just picked up this new toy. What is the max angle for type 1 axles? The PO did not know anything about this little Baja. It has a external cooler and filter with full flow oil system. When I change the oil how much is a good starting point for how much to add I don't want to over service it.
Here's a pic of my new toy. It sits 17 1/2 " off the ground measured under the door.

Thanks for any help.

you will need to clearance all your CV's.... even if they are Bus, bug, type 1,2,3,4... if you don't they will over heat and weaken the CV making them prone to break under load. if you can find under sized balls it will save you a lot of work.

if your CV is tight in its travel it will over heat when you drive and dry up the grease after that the CV will supper over heat and blow. I have seen them over heat to the point that it dries up the grease in the bearings. take them apart and clean them up ... I use a flapper wheel that is about the same size as the balls. when the CV is very sloppy in its travel you are done.

Someone has cut the flare off of all the carb stacks. Is there any reason they would have done this? Car seems to be running rich. It still has mechanical fuel pump with no pressure regulator. Do you guys recommend putting a pressure regulator and possible electric fuel pump? Where would be the best location to install these?

Thanks for all the help so far. My CV's are at 13 degrees right now, it has adjustable swing arms so I may have to let it down a little. Not sure about clearanceing the CV. Never had one apart. Any pics of this being done?

Here is a pic of the carb.
