I broke the nut side of on a stub axle on my baja. I have disc brakes so I was able to limp home. Would not of been able to do that with drum brakes.

Some small mods: upgraded existing wiper assembly (lock screw arm, lower 2 in pic) to newer style(spline type arms, upper arm in pic) hopefully for better windshield contact pressure, these have bigger hold springs than old style.

Modified existing wiper motor assembly for spline type shafts/arms because I knew what shape it is in plus it's clean/painted, Upper 1 in pic is older style w/lock screw type shafts. Removed spline type shafts (lower assembly in pic) drill holes a little bigger & installed shafts in old style assembly. Note:this was a "before" picture

Added/modified rear (smaller) heat boxes over stinger exhaust system for a little more heat. Starting to get cold here in NC

Thanks to Sal at Parts Authority aka Bap on 27th and Camelback for hooking me up with another rear window seal after I destroyed the first. LOL
And thanks to my Wife and friend Tomas for helping me get two windows done.
Passenger side quarter window hopefully tonight, but my fingers are very sore. lol
Interesting note is that the headliner was under the seal on the quarter windows and trimmed from the outside of the car before the windows were originally installed, so my seals and windows are original to the bug.
Edited to change name of store, I always mix it up with advanced pars.

All rear windows are sealed up, doors have new outer seals.
Still runs pretty good or nearly the same and unfortunately pulls hard right under braking. lol There's never nothing to do.
Vacuumed it out and found a lizard living in it and rescued from starvation.
2yr old loves to drive in it.

Hi AZBAJA I am 16 and about a month ago I bought my first car it is a 1964 baja bug, and I absolutely love it. Today I took all of the trim out of my baja and welded up all of the holes then I put Bondo on the negative body work and I sanded the bondo down.
(please PM me if you have some baja or rail parts that you may want to sell me or give away to me much appreciated)

Sometimes you just gotta say out loud, what were they thinking?
Recently I had gotten a homebuilt bug back that I had given to my cousin who had bigger plans than he was able to put into fruition, however when he had completely disassembled and returned my car, he gave me his parts that he had gathered as well.
Included was an engine, but, yes there's always a butt in there, after research I found that its an H case and not worth the effort to rebuild. Too bad.
I decided to tear it down to see what, if anything, I can use off it.
Boy, some people should never do bug work, or maybe this is what they were learning on?
Both heads appear cracked into the spark plug holes. Engine was running so rich that everything is coated in black carbon. 3 studs are screwed, but hey they jb welded one back in. LOL
Pistons and cylinders are huge compared to my 1600cc set I'm planing on building an engine from so I'm not sure what they are yet. Can't believe they spent the money to machine the case for them. Not sure if a hone can clean the cylinders up enough to make them useable. Future attempt or trade parts. We'll see. They had several spacers under the jugs, so either the compression was too high, or they didn't know what they were doing. Which made the pushrods to short, evidenced by the adjustment of the rockers beyond their limits and one adjuster nut found in the valve cover.
They added an external cooler adapter, but didn't put the rubber seals in. Could account for the massive amount of oil caked all over the engine.
So, yeah, I was disappointed, but hey, if anyone needs a block, I have one really cheap. It looks as though it's a stock crank and cam, so I'm stopping there and will split the case if I think I need something from it and will try to get the flywheel off before doing so. I don't have anything that'll touch it i think.
Other parts I acquired, just not sure I'll use, Pedal assembly, turning brakes, dual Weber Carburetors, manifolds and linkage (Explains the Rich Running) etc. I still need to sort out the parts to see what I have.
Fired my bug up, still runs great, except for the flat spot and still very low oil pressure once warmed up (Not like it's going to fix itself). I'm going to adjust the brakes again and bleed them to see if I get a better pedal and maybe drive it around until it's so hot I can roast a weenie in it, the engine blows, or I build another engine from my parts.
Thanks for reading.
