Looking at pics again, the ducts look like the were fighting the fans if the were on the engine side pushing air up and duct was pushing down?

I knew it was going to be an issue when I put the water pumper in.. I hoped that with the big radiator it would solve the issue. but the heat wont go away it just stays at the back of the car at 55+mph

now I am using a radiator 1/3 the size of the one I am using and putting it into the air flow and I am willing to bet that I will have solved my issue.

I hope so, sounds like you have tried everything at this point. I had the exact same problem you are having now and could only run 55 or so, sounds like you plan to put the rad up front which is better for weight distribution any way. But just out of curiosity have you checked the lower hose temp when the motor is 210-220? Just seems like that giant radiator would be impossible to over heat with an aluminum 4 cyl. I realize air flow is important but that looks like it could cool a cast iron v8 with little problem

No have never checked the lower hose temp yet.. this is car 4 that I have tried with not putting the radiator in the air flow... in all cases the problem was solved with changing the air flow some how.

I am going to put it on top of the car...

Outlet water temp is the key piece of this puzzle, I have a 16" square 2 core aluminum that gets no forced air with a single 14" puller with a proper shroud that never gets close to 210, dig the rail by they way! I see you have the same style radiator setup on it, what motor? I didn't find a pic that really showed it. Judging from muffler in was guessing a V motor of some sort, does it have the conventional placed therm up top? There is an inline thermostat housing avail if you want to try and put it up top and remove the factory but there kinda $$ but it will keep the motor warmer in winter for heater core

I can see you have shut down and are finished listening to practical input, still don't see how you came to the conclusion you had creep when you don't even know if the radiator return temps are.

I know exactly how you feel, I went through the same fight. In my case flow was the only issue and I found this out with a temp check, I understand why it does it and I believe if the water was returning at 180 the therm would stay wide open and allow proper flow but when it returns at 120-130 it created a cold pocket around therm that choked off flow and allowed the block to get hot at higher speeds. I really hope this helps to get yor problem solved, I know my first thoughts were cooling when I was fighting mine

9mo. out of the year I can push it hard with out any radiator creep ... but when it gets around 105 deg on up it cant dissipate the heat ... two weeks ago my AC went down and it was 112 deg on the way home. when I started to over heat I turn on the heater and was able to make it all the way home with out overheating.. I only have about one more month for R&D before the temp drops below 105ish.. The hotter it is the shorter distance on the HWY I need to drive before the problem starts to service.

its going to be good and hot today. Wink
