WOW !!! Flagstaff was AWESOME ... we had some light rain on and off, just enough to keep the dust down and not enough to make heavy mud.. the fear of heavy rain kept a lot of people from going to Flagstaff so everywhere was vacant.. Never made it over to the cinders, had too much fun near camp. (Sorry guys.) found some stuffed mushrooms at Sprouts ... put them on the BBQ ... WOW!! smoked mushrooms!! We went back Sunday for more...

Cant wait to go back July 3-5th

well took 12mins to remove the wiper units from a bone yard bug..

so I thought it would take 30 mins to install it into my car... WRONG!
oh boy I was wrong... 7 1/2 hrs later I was done..

the old unit took over an 1 1/2 to remove... remember all the defroster ducking and tubes I so nicely ... most of it needed to come out.. my tack needed to be moved.. it finely come out..

then something went wrong... I kept blowing fuses????

no matter what I did it kept blowing fuses..

off to the books ... no help.

to the internet... could not find what I was looking for..

call a few friends.... no luck.. I could get it to work but it would blow the fuse when the unit "Homed" ... well back to the internet...

it seem somewhere around 1972ish they put the window wiper switch on the steering wheel and that type was not compatible with the dash switch.
I had the wrong motor. VW only made the motor I needed for 2 years.

it looks like this

well went thru emission ... what mess.... the first guy was about 6' 9" and he jumped in and found out that he was too big to work the pedals... then he found out he could not get out... after two of his crew members almost broke my steering wheel getting him out ... Now the guy 5' 4" come over .. jumps right in and is able to fit . YEAH! said he used to own a Baja and wants to get another one some day... I was really feeling good.. then we got started ... well he did not know it had a water pumper in the back and punched it right off the bat.. OMG!!! my car almost jumped the rollers! Everyone was yelling STOP!! his supervisor came over and they had to reposion my car on the rollers and they used a bunch of straps to hold my car down.. so we started again. this time with the supervisor watching..

I knew it ... it passed no problem... as I drove away I started to laugh.. the whole thing was kinda funny .. I had a picture in my mind of my baja shooting out the other side with the kid screaming as it cleared the landscape..

went home.. getting it ready for Flagstaff.

they do that to my rail every year but mines the opposite! they cant touch the pedals then they try to take off slow and kill it then they gun it and bounces all over the rollers, and usually knocks over the fan that they put in front of my rear engined air cooled car!?, it will test for about 20 to 45 seconds and end the test. This means the tested particulate was less than half of specks (clean). The first time they almost crashed my car, but now I look forward to the show, they have to fix what ever they break!

I got lucky as all hell, my car failed the idle test, ya she runs rich! Then they stopped testing motorcycles and I don't have to deal with it anymore

I love it when they test my rail.. it popped of the rollers a few times.. for some reason they think they need to punch it in first gear... the loose straps keep it from shooting out the other door. after that they really lock it down... when they punch my rail sweeks the tires on the rollers.. some day I want to put a stock tire on the rear and take it in... the small tire will smoke on the rollers. ... I had to do that with my old Baja. so it would pass. they always want it in 3 gear. and it would not pass when they lugged the motor like that. so by putting stock size tires on the back before I went in .. it always passed the test.
