I'm seriously considering buying a Baja bug. But the one I'm looking at has great suspension, needs a roll cage, and needs a new engine. The engine might be a simple issue, but really I want to do a serious swap does anyone have experience stuffing sti or porsche flat sixes in these things? I'm thinking of an awd build with a porsche flat 6 and compatible awd system. Has anyone done something similar? And mods please put this in a build thread if need be. I just really don't know what these cars will handle. Oh and it's gotta be street legal in Colorado.

Check out Daltons 69 project, it has a subie motor in it.

Suspension is the key to going fast off-road. Without it, a big motor is a waste of power and gas.
