Hey guys. So I put a stereo in my baja bug and now the oil light wont turn off unless I turn off the stereo! Its driving me crazy. Why is the power draw from a basic cd player effin up my cluster? Any ideas? I ran constant off far right, and obviously ignition from ignition on far left. (Looking under dash)

well the oil light is negative and the cluster is positive charged. sounds like you are grounding the oil light wire somewhere.

Im confused because I didnt unplug anything. I went over the wires for the oil light. If I turn off the radio everything works as it should. Im stumped. Do you think maybe the radio isnt grounded well enough and its trying to compensate by drawing a lot of juice and falsely grounding the light? Like maybe the weak power from a large draw is tricking it into thinking its being grounded by the sensor? Because im pretty sure the sensor is the negative since thats how you check if the light works, by grounding the plug on something. I really hate driving it with the dang light on, but a guy needs his tunes!

try unplugging the oil light from the motor side... maybe there will be some insight there.

Maybe its the speaker wires are bleeding over to the oil light. this cant be that completed ... you are over looking something simple.
