For me, it's unbalanced Mud Terrain tires that aren't good for fast speeds in the first place. I've had it to at least 80-90 on the open road, but it is by no means a comfortable cruise speed because you have to be on top of it ready to react to any gust of air or change in road condition. Bias ply tires tend to want to follow every crack or separation in the road.

I definitely can tell the front is light at high speed so I like living and have been too close to not being to take the risk anymore.

I remember my 80 RX7 was missing the front air dam and at very high speeds (speedo only went to 80) you could feel it get really light in the front. It was only a 4 speed trans so I couldn't run as fast as the Honda I was with and have no real idea how fast it was able to go. I just know it took a while before the Speedo started to show I was slowing down.

Now the C4 Corvette 2004 I ran 3rd almost to red line and it felt like it wanted more, but conditions prevented me from pushing it further. That's a car that I could have a lot of fun in, but only got to drive it maybe 6 times. Each pushing it a little harder. Did you know you can do almost a hundred in second gear? lol Awesome

Sorry Dalton, we kinda threadjacked you. Back to the 69. Still working out any kinks or is it ready to run? I wish I could run with you this weekend, but I have too much going on already. Have a safe trip!

Those old Mickey Thompsons on the back have been on there since 85ish, lol. They actually drive really nice at those speeds. Had them on the front too and were fine, but for some reason the front pair were getting some dry cracking (only 28 years old Very Happy ) So I replaced those with regular car type radials when it was brought back out last year, don't care for em'. Can't wait to put a set of the Mickey bias plys back on the front again. Something more puncture resistant would make me feel better anyway.

Yeah, I busted a sidewall twice in a row on outings and found some older tires that are a 100 times better. I expected better from the Firestone Destination M/T's that I have on the back. The lugs are ripping off. Sad I paid a lot for them too. I plan on finishing them off at the Play day.

I'm a big fan of the M/T's. Those back tires have been through hell and back, 28 years old, they wear like rocks, scuffs on the side from things trying to puncture them Very Happy and they're still kickin', I trust them enough to still take it trail riding in the middle of no where. They are expensive tires but I'd say I got my money's worth. I can't bare to take them off, they don't even make this particular size anymore.

A new set of the tall skinny M/T's will go back on the front soon.

My rear tires are useless...... with the sense of having horsepower if you can't get it to the ground.. I may try my 33 12.5 maybe Bill hook up better

Are they BFG All Terrains too?

I ran those on my blazer and a couple of jeeps. Okay tire on the road but never was too happy off road with it. It would get me around however. They seemed to wear out quick too, about 40k miles of easy driving and they were done.
Later went to the Goodyear MTR's on the 4x4's and was very happy, good tire and more puncture resistant.

On the rail I haven't had anything on it but MT Baja Claws, and they bite like crazy. I run a 31x 13.5 which isn't made anymore (why I'm reluctant to change them). But I've climbed stuff in the rail fairly easy that was a bit slippery in a 4x4 with BFG all terrains.

no they were some junk tires I picked up that I could spin with my 1600.. I am thinking of putting them on the front of the rail to burn them up.. they are wide and float well.

Was the sound cutting in and out on the original recording or did that happen when it was uploaded? Kinda sucks, otherwise cool.

That looks like it works really well. Good job.

Are you running an 002 or 091 for a trans? Did you re-gear it or leave it stock?
