It's normal for it to want to roll while running and in neutral.

Couldn't find what a boden bend was in google. lol

I misread, maybe the previous owner used the wrong throw-out bearing/pressure plate combo?

It is the Yellow tube on the driver side of the transaxle in the photo. it should bow down or bend down etc. like in the photo.

Or some one could of put a mis match presure plate into the car. If your baring rides on a tube bolted to the inside of the bell houseing. it should be just fingers on the presure plate and the bearing will have an inverted cone for the fingers ti ride in.

Early presure plate will have a flat ring on the presure plate plus the bearing will have a matching flat face. The baring will ride in the forks and be held into place by to hair pin type clips.

well after last nights nasty sounding driving i got up this morning and decided to attack the bowden tube. Got a close look and there was only 2 small washers on there, well i found a spacer that would have worked perfect gave the right amount of bend but the cable was about a 1/4 inch to short, so i settled for another spacer that was about 1/4 in smaller than the first and was able to get the wing nut over the cable. Well shifting into 1st is so much nicer reverse is still sketchy, would have liked that first spacer to work. But for right now it sounds 1000k better

well that was short lived, shifted great for the first two miles than i couldnt shift at all had to shut car off to get to first, pulled engine and inside
the bell housing i covered in oil

Mine was mostly due to the swing axle boots, so I replaced them a couple of times before I figured out they were getting pinched causing them to leak. Now the leaking is minimal. I just saw your Flywheel Holy Crap!

All things considered I'm not sure that you are staring down to rebuild yet.. You just got the car. Go out and have some fun in it.. Check your oil pressure make sure it has oil in it and drive it for a while.. Replacing that rear main seal is kind of a tricky... There's some voodoo and some tricks to replacing it correctly if you don't it will still leak.. Someone else on this website that's better at it than me that will explain how it's done..

On the transmission: I would just take it down to Arizona transaxle exchange talked to Bill tell them I sent you and you would like to have your transmission vatted and cleaned. I'm sure you will be please on how little it costs...

Stock flywheels and pressure plates are cheap just buy a new ones.. By the time you get done resurfacing what you have will outweigh the cost of just replacing them..

Why you have the transmission out set it Bell housing down with no weight on the input shaft use some wood,,, check to see if the transmissions rear main seal leaks,,, this would be a good time to replace it... Matter of fact it be a good time to replace the transmission oil you probably don't need the synthetic stuff just some regular old oil... Have build check your input shaft bushing he could replace it very easily this will improve your shifting. By slightly pressurizing the transmission you can check to see if any seals are leaking will never know what you'll find under the gunk...

Dirty, My swing boots would bind over the Trany Horns too. Had to replace them every few months. Sucked.
