Sorry to hear you have undersized balls... You gonna carry one extra tranney on your roof rack?

Sorry- could not resist.

All seriousness aside... Really looking good. Where did you source the heavy duty parts.. Always good to know where to get decent parts. As with the issues I'm facing on the square good running gear is essential.

I love the looks of a Subaru motor in a Volkswagen... With that Subaru install it looks like he had to cut through the firewall ... But I have a trick..??>?
I am going to reposition the throttle body, not only am I going to spin it 180° so that the throttle cable functions properly I'm going to relocated completely.

I've cleaned up the transmission and installed all the hardware on it that is needed for installation.. I've installed the 930 stub axles.. And I've repainted the transmission.. Tomorrow when the pain is dry I plan on installing the transmission and Subaru block.. Everything seems to be falling in place with very few surprises.

I've taken some photos but I don't think any of them are worthy of posting.

A buddy of mine came by Yesterday and fixed my shops AC unit!!!!... It turns out it has a small leak in it just needed some gas.. This was awesome news. The fear of working in that shop without air-conditioning... OMG!!

Today was a long day.... I can't even count how many times I had to pull the transmission and put it back in. I ended up redesigning the 10 degree kit..
There is about a half an inch of length between the 002 transmission and the 091.. I knew this before I even installed the 002 transmission two years ago.. I thought I could compensate with half inch spacers. So that I can go back to the 002 transmission at a later date.. that isn't going to happen, with the modifications that I made it looks like I'm stuck using the 091 transmission or I will have to purchase a replacement tranny cradle. Everything just barely fits I know now that I will not be able to replace my tranny in the field,,.. Well maybe. I haven't finished the modifications yet. I've decided to stop for the evening and think about how to proceed with the modifications at this point anything that I do is permanent. I don't want to do something cheesy it will end up biting me in the end. At this point it is best for me just to stop and sleep on it. Yesterday I was three hours ahead of schedule today I'm behind four hours I'm hoping that the rest of the build will go smoother than today. I've taken a few more photos but none of them are worth posting..

Hopefully tomorrow I will make better progress.

Dalton,

At least the long day was spent doing something you love to do. One can always do the job quick and cheesy but like you said, doing it right takes time at first but pays off in the long run. Hang in there, like watching what you are doing with this install..

Thanks John...

I really appreciate the support. Most the time my build are done in the dark.. And no one gets to see the inner workings of what I can do. I'm not a very big forum type guy.. But I must admit this is a pretty cool site with some awesome members. I will keep posting if people like you keep viewing and enjoy the work.

Well today was another long day we got up early to make up some time between the time that I took my car through emissions and taking my car to Flagstaff for the Fourth of July campout. Is less than a month. I got the transmission in properly and the 930 CVs installed I've torqued down everything(Gooden-tighten) so that it is ready to go... I got sidetracked and stopped progress to address the firewall issue I needed to beef it up somehow so that my rear cage can take a better impact I was digging around my scrap pile and came up with this nice piece of diamond plate ... After a little bit of work she cleaned up nice .. I'm about a half an hour away from putting the motor in for the first time.. I think that I'm in a pop off the rear tires so that I can tilt the car 10° for easy motor installation and deinstallation until I'm ready for the final installation..
