Couldn't get the single 40 tuned before bug jam so I put the dual ICT's back on for now, cruised at 2300 RPM at 65 and oil temp never got over 180. Drives like a Cadillac, "without power steering and ac" LOL

Thanks POCman we are real happy with the way everything came together. Going to change the rear shocks to Rancho's or something like them and add a turbo and I'm done!

A little update to the single 40 carb adventure, I had some extra time so I completely disassembled the new carb I couldn't get tuned properly, what I found was disturbing, there were metal chips and casting flash in every passage, jets and tube, "no wonder the car wouldn't run". I thought the carb was ready to bolt on when it came out of the box,it was wrapped in a plastic bag and still had the smell of fuel from being tested. "When people suggest taking apart your brand new carb and cleaning it, LISTEN to them". Anyway I tuned the single 40 with 65 idles,150 mains,160 airs and didn't modify the bypass jet for the accelerator pumps. Mixture screws are now only 1 1/2 turns out and the 1914 is running amazing! Blow through T25 turbo is next!

You just discovered why they say that. Smile I have had a couple that even when cleaned no fuel would flow through the idles.

Looks like that should put more power to the ground. Keep us up to date.

Flange is tig welded along with the bracing, "I wish I could TIG but I had a local shop do it for me"

Turbo is mounted, just waiting on the intake charge piping and hoses, oiling system seems to be working fine, dumped the 1/2" drain back into the oil fill tube and looks like it flows well with a .060 restriction. Car starts and runs with the turbo emulsion tubes and pressure hat in place. We are getting rid of the mechanical fuel pump and changing over to a 140 GPH electric with a 1:1 boost referenced regulator, I'm afraid the mechanical pumps 5 psi max may be a problem if the boost spikes to 6 psi or so. Working on the ignition advance until the other parts come in.

Pic's got all screwed up on photo bucket, "Sorry" Turbo is on and running really well, a little to well having trouble keeping the boost under 9 lbs, going to modify the waste gate more this weekend. The blow through carb is running a little fat down low but I expected that, advance is limited to 25 degree's. I only laid into the boost once in the top of second gear and at 9 psi this Baja pulled like a V8 car, really sets you back in the seat. I will get the pic's straightened out this week end. But here are a few
