Filled the trans and motor on the kids car with the proper fluids and amounts, replaced the axle seals in the rail and installed the fuse block and toggle switches.

I am going to Prescott tomorrow to "acquire" another 1600 DP in trade for some ammo. Supposed to have a lightened flywheel, and spin freely- "but needs rebuilt". With Dirtjunkie's help, we plan on taking the best of everything and making a solid engine for my son's "TR-AJA".

I'm becoming a horder- I feel so dirty...

Ok so I have learned that 2.5 shocks are longer then 2.0's. My fox 2.0 are 26" eye and the FOA's are 29" so now I have to move my shock mounts up a bit. The good news is that I will be able to still use my limiting straps. I will post pics when it's all completed. As for now here are some in progress.

Stripped almost down to long block and repaired leak in the Oil Cooler seals.

I have those dual exhausts off Eric if you wanted to trade.

Found the oil pump plate leaking and also there was some wear on it that I worked out with oil on wet/dry 240 grit on the surface of a plate of stainless that I have.

Installing the alternator that I got from someone here right now and hopefully will have running again tonight.

ETA - Added on the new Alternator, don't really know how to wire it up yet, but will figure it out. Going to go through my Progressive's jet settings to see if I need to adjust anything, it appears that it's running a little rich before putting it on. Will hopefully fire it up tomorrow now.

Finished putting it together and putting Eric's quiet pack on, not as quiet as I had hoped, but noticeably different. Still leaking oil from my crack in the head flange so I'll try and see if I can find where and attempt to slow it down.

Big difference float level and jets make! Hardly any hesitation when starting out. I found a needle valve next to the Accelerator pump that was seated all the way in, but I think it was blocking off the fuel due to excessive tightening. So I put a little fuel resistant teflon on the threads and put it just under flush underneath the gasket when the top is put on. Seems to really have done the trick. I knew right away when everytime I moved the throttle it was squirting the little amount of fuel that was in the passageways.

Alternator works! I figured out the wiring right away as all I really had to do was to eliminate the regulator and everything screwed into place and the spade plug was already the right size. Just discovered the hard way though that I can't run a choke as it interferes with the fan shroud and was making it rub the fan. Fortunately? I was already missing the choke plates and just took off the element part and it gave me a lot of room to work with.

Couldn't use my power pulley and put the cracked one back on for now, until I can get a smaller V-belt. I had to make sure the Alt worked before spending more money on it.

Getting there...

I used a powerwasher to blast 20 years of nasty out of the baja project. I also moved it from one side of the garage to the other. Does that count?
