Here's the latest pic's looks like the emergency brake cables are going to be a challenge with the trailing arms, I really want the emergency brakes to be functional though,"Were going to have to get creative"

Time to start on the body work!

Finally got some of the bodywork taken care of, I'm terrible at it so it's not very high up on my priority list!

Cant wait to get this body painted and back of the chassis!

Well Tech
Its looking prettty clean....doin some great work.....two thumbs.
So what did you ever come up with for the shock mounts on you 1in. longers...thinking that gives you 10 in. of travel but not certain.
Would love to hear you plan.
Lower mount on the trailing saves a few inches....and a front side mount might work for a stock tower....Interesting
Could you post a pic of your 1in. longers (since ive never worked with them).....in relation to the stock tower.

As soon as we get this body in primer and back on the chassis, the plan is to bend up the roll cage and figure the shocks out at that point. I would rather not go through the rear fender wells with the tops of the shocks if possible, but instead tie the mounting into the roll cage through the fender wells. I have found a chassis shop here in Florida that sells a seal for 1 5/8" tubing that i could use to seal the shocks if need be,they use them to have rear cage bars go through Lexan back windows in pick up trucks. I will keep you posted.

So your hittin up the traditional "conventional" baja build.
Was just wondering if you had come up with something new.
Ive made a spider outta my frame horns.
Look into the update
www.azbaja.com/ForumsP...=8282.html
After crunching some numbers the drop in is quite slick.
Keep up the great work!!!

That is looking really sweet, should be bulletproof too! I noticed you mentioned re indexing once your new T bars take a set. I installed new 27 mm bars, what kind of drop in height would be considered normal once they break in, and how long does it usually take? My torsions are stiff as hell and barely come off the stops without the engine and body in place. Just wondering how much droop would be normal, are we talking about losing a 1/4" in height once they take a set?

If you spring plates are coming off the stops....it sounds like you set them for too many pounds.
Where you try to "set the set" with your preload so you souldnt have to go back into????
On my full body....i set for 650-700 lbs.
Im running 28s too and with everything mocked...body, engine with trans,,,,she has perfect action.
I trimmed my stops before my plates.
If youre slipping off your stops im wondering what youre running for plates.
SAW HD will not bend like the swingaxle mods.
What make of torsion are your running...is one side stiffer then the other....cause 40/44 teeth are sometimes hard to intially index the same without identifying marks.

And going back through the pick those plate are HD....KUDOS

Your tension is knocking those of the stops????

I probably didn't word that right, what i meant to say was without the engine and body in place "The way my chassis is now" the arms are pegged against the stops. One person alone cant compress the rear suspension enough to come off the stops. Maybe once the car is together and more weight is on the rear things will change. The angles on both sides look good but I'm worried I'm indexed to much, I hear it will ride like crap against the stops.

Body is finally in primer

Time to set the body on the chassis and bend up the roll bar and shock mounts

You might wanna prep and prime the interior before you start bending tube. It'll get a whole lot harder to do after the cage is in.
